Can you draw it yourself in Denmark? #

Yes, for simple projects. Applicants can prepare their own situationsplan, for example by marking up an existing or original situationsplan for the property. A certified adviser (certificeret rådgiver) becomes mandatory if the project falls in fire class or construction class 2–4.

Create your situationsplan right here on the website in a few steps #

Drawblueprint is a simple tool for producing a scaled situationsplan.

  1. Upload map data — Upload your matrikelkort or existing plan as a PDF or PNG.
  2. Fill in the details — Your drawing details appear in a correct title block.
  3. Draw what you need — Placement, boundaries and dimensioned distances.
  4. Export a finished drawing — Download a PDF ready to submit.

What Denmark requires #

The situationsplan shows the whole matrikel with:

  • The building's placement on the plot
  • Distances to property boundaries
  • Distances to other buildings on the plot

It must be measured and to scale (målfast), and submitted as a PDF in A4 or A3. Photographs of drawings are not accepted.

Where to get the base map #

The official cadastral map is the matrikelkort from matriklen, maintained by Geodatastyrelsen (the Danish Geodata Agency, under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities). It shows registered property boundaries. Address and property data come from BBR and DAWA.

How to submit #

All building applications must go through the mandatory national portal Byg og Miljø, using MitID login. The portal provides examples and step-by-step guidance, and routes the case to your kommune.

With Drawblueprint you can import your map base and draw a målfast situationsplan, then export it as the PDF that Byg og Miljø expects. It is easier to use than CAD and more capable than general drawing programs: correct scale, a proper title block and dimensioned distances to boundaries.

Many use Drawblueprint to for planning where to lay pipes on their property, for facade drawings, for communication with contractors, estimating materials, and to craete other drawings that are useful in different stages of a project.
